Haar Sarira 16. Karmapa

The hair sariras described here are a gift from friendly lamas from Rumtek so that we can continue to support Buddhist and humanitarian projects.

The ringlets (Tibetan name for sariras) named here have come a very long and sometimes dangerous way. This was necessary in order to protect them - the lama told us that they are sariras that grew on the hair of the 16th Karmapa. We were told that they embody his special energy.

These sariras have a particular tendency to grow or change color. They are said to have originally been deep red.
