The most complete teaching on the Lam Rim, or graduated path to enlightenment. This great work is based on a famous 24-day meditation course given in Tibet in 1921 by the renowned Pabongka Rinpoche. It is, to this day, one of the main texts used by Gelugpa lamas as the basis of their teachings on the Lam Rim.
Pabongka's teachings were meant as a practical commentary for practitioners based on Tsong Khapa's scholarly Lam Rim Chenmo and the earlier Lamp for the Path by Atisha. It goes into great detail on such subjects as how to prepare for meditation, guru yoga and the development of bodhichitta. Pabongka Rinpoche intersperses lively anecdotes, examples, and quotations from the scriptures with stories from his own and other lama's practice, creating am easily accessible guide to meditating on each step of the path.
Among those present at the teachings in 1921 was Trijang Rinpoche, the late junior tutor to the Dalai Lama, who later edited them into the Tibetan publication of this spiritual classic.
