A new translation of Maitreya's Uttara tantra shastra, the major Mahayana text on the subject of Buddha nature transmitted by Asanga. The commentary is based upon extensive oral explanations by Thrangu Rinpoche and Khempo Tsultrim Gyamtso, as well as Ken Holmes's personal experience of teaching this text to a Western audience.
These teachings are based on the Buddha's third turning of the wheel of dharma, which reveal the heart nature of all sentient beings to be the sublime perfection of enlightenment. This unrecognized inner essence is our Buddha nature and to discover it completely is to become a Buddha, with all a Buddha's qualities and power to help others.
